How to get to Brno

Although Brno has its own airport, Brno-Tuřany, with regular Ryanair flights to London, Berlin and Milan, most visitors to the city fly to Prague or Vienna and travel the rest of the way by bus or train.

How to get from Prague to Brno

If you fly to Vaclav Havel Airport in Prague, RegioJet coach lines will get you to Brno comfortably. The buses stop directly in front of Terminal 1 (under the airbridge to Terminal 2) and take you to the central bus station, Florenc, where you need to transfer. In total, the journey to Brno should not take more than 4 hours including waiting time at Florenc. Buses leave from the airport hourly. Tickets cost approx. EUR 10 each way and can be bought either via their website or in Terminal 2 Arrival Hall.

We recommend buying tickets in advance, because the buses may be fully booked.

If you wish to go by train, Prague Airport is connected to the Prague Main Railway Station by the Airport Express (AE) shuttle bus service. The journey takes 45 minutes, and the bus drops you off directly in front of the main railway station. You can board this bus at the bus stop in front of Terminal 1. This service is provided by Czech Railways. For more information and tickets, please check the webpage. There you can also search for your connection to Brno. Trains leave twice an hour. The journey by Eurocity or Railjet takes 2 hours and 30 minutes according to schedule.

How to get from Vienna to Brno

You can reach Brno from Vienna International Airport by bus or by train. Each option costs appx. EUR 15 each way (if bought in advance).

If you wish to go by train, take ÖBB Railjet train to Vienna central station (Wien Hauptbahnhof). The train leaves each 30 minutes and the travel time is 15 minutes. Avoid CAT and S-Bahn trains that go to Wien-Mitte station. Tickets are available at, at the ÖBB ticket counter at the airport or at ÖBB ticket machines. You will need to change at Wien Hauptbahnhof and board a Railjet train to Brno, which leaves every 2 hours. Both ÖBB and Czech Railways sell tickets for the whole trip. The journey takes 1 hour and 25 minutes. Check the schedule and buy Railjet tickets here.

As for the bus connection, there is a bus, operated by Regiojet, going directly from Vienna Airport to Brno in 2 hours and 40 minutes. The Regiojet bus stop is situated in the bus terminal at the airport and leaves 6 times per day. Turn right after the exit from the new arrival hall. We recommend finding your connection and buying the tickets in advance here.

Attention! On 9 December 2018, the Brno Main Station closed for long-term repairs. Most regional and long-distance trains no longer go to the Main Station and are instead diverted to the Lower Station (Dolní nádraží) and Židenice station. Get off at Brno-Dolní nádraží and take a bus to Brno-Hlavní nádraží (Main Station), which takes about 5 minutes.

How to get from Brno main station to the venue

From the Main Station (which is the main hub in Brno located next to trains and buses) you can continue 6 minutes by Tram No.1 in the direction Bystrc-Ečerova and get off at Mendlovo náměstí (Mendel Square). From there you can either walk or continue 1 stop by bus No. 84 to Křížkovského stop.
